
Initial Meeting
- The Interior Designer
will travel to see you at your premises and spend at least an
hour investigating your requirementsand undertake a Client Brief.
- Following the initial
meeting, a copy of a Contract, scheme ideas and a quotation will
be sent to the Client outlining the proposal. Please also see
Terms of Payment.
Subsequent Meetings
- The proposal, once
agreed and accepted by the Client, will be further discussed.
- Further meetings
will be scheduled throughout the Design Stage as necessary, until
all aspects of the project are agreed between the Client and the
Interior Designer.
Design Concept
- The Interior Designer
will use their knowledge and training to undertake the sourcing
and preparation of the project Sample Board.
- A standard room
survey to determine overall dimensions of the space will be undertaken
at this stage.
Sample Board
- A Sample Board is
the visualization of the Scheme as discussed and agreed between
the Client and Interior Designer at prior meetings. The Scheme
illustrates all agreed fabrics, wall finishes and floor coverings,
using actual samples of the materials specified. (One Board is
usually prepared for each room)
- The Sample Board
is for the Client to keep following the presentation.
Sourcing
- This involves the
Interior Designer considering the appropriate Contractors and
Suppliers for the project and arrange for estimates to be carried
out.
- All estimates will
be administered by the Interior Designer.

Project Co-ordination
- Project Co-ordination
is the term used where the Interior Designer makes the appointments
of Contractors on behalf of the Client, and NOT Project Management
which is the term used where the Interior Designer employs the
Contractors and takes on full responsibility for the project.
- Whether the Client
uses their own Contractors or the ones the Interior Designer recommends,
the Client pays the Contractors bill directly. This ensures the
guarantee for the work is in the Client’s name.
- Full schedules of
the work will be supplied by the Contractor, but the Interior
Designer will administer the works.
Site Visits
- A minimum of two
site visits is recommended. Subsequent visits will be assessed
and agreed with the Client beforehand.
- A final site visit
on completion of the project, will be undertaken free of charge.
Project Updates
- Following site visits,
a written update will be sent to the Client from the Interior
Designer, detailing the progress of the project.

Purchasing of Materials
- Having agreed the
quotation with the Client for the materials from the relevant
suppliers, the Interior Designer requires 100% payment in advance
of the goods to be purchased to facilitate ordering.
- The Interior Designer
will co-ordinate with the relevant suppliers for window treatments,
flooring (includes carpet, stone and wood), decoration, soft furnishing
and upholstery.
Purchasing of Furniture
and Accessories
- Having agreed the
quotation with the Client for the Furniture and Accessories from
the relevant suppliers, the Interior Designer requires 100% payment
in advance of the goods to be purchased to facilitate ordering.
- The Interior Designer
will co-ordinate the delivery of the Furniture and Accessories
directly with the suppliers.
All consideration
will be given by the Interior Designer when incurring costs.
Any exceptional costs
which the Interior Designer deems necessary, will be conferred and
agreed with the Client before undertaken.
- Travel costs outside
of the M25, will be charged at the hourly rate of £50 pro
rata.
- Accommodation will
be arranged by the Interior Designer, unless otherwise agreed
with the Client.
- Hire of Special Equipment
includes, but is not limited to, Skip hire, specialist cleaning,
bay suspensions, etc.
- Storage may be recommended
by the Interior Designer when necessary, however, the Client will
be responsible for arrangement and payment of the facility.
International Day Rates
- The Day Rate covers
the Interior Designer services for an 8 hour day, including travel
time.
Late Amendments to
Project Design by Client
- Any unforeseen changes
to the design of the project will be charged to the Client at
an hourly rate as set out in the Fee Structure.
